"God reveals Himself more effectively through nature than through man-made institutions." "As a result, the child's education should take place in natural settings, so that he develops a love for everything around him." Rabindranath Tagore

On our initial visit in September 2015 to Netrokona, which is 160 kilometres northeast of the capital Dhaka, we learned that up until that point, lectures were provided outside, with the great minds seated beneath the canopy of a few "Mahogany" trees.

Only those students are admitted whose families do not have enough money to support their children's education. While we were enthralled by the kids' captivating performance, we couldn't help but wonder

The school required three classrooms to function. The choice was made to use the open platform as the first classroom, with three more to follow.

The bamboo classrooms with thatched roof are arranged around a central courtyard-all raised 60cm and attached obliquely to the open classroom. The windows are constructed in a way so that they can facilitate enough ventilation & light from all directions making the need of electricity obsolete for now. The school now gets five classrooms altogether.
